Clear Correct aligners are removable form of braces made from durable clear plastic. They are a great option for adults with modest alignment issues. They have become more popular than traditional braces as they are barely noticeable to the casual observer.
Before being fitted for the aligners your dentist will take X-rays and make an impression of your bite pattern. This information is then sent to the Clear Correct lab where a series of clear plastic aligner trays are produced.
For maximum effect and shortest duration of treatment you will need to wear the aligners for at least 20 hours each day. Every two weeks you will switch new set plastic aligners that are slightly different than the previous one. The total time you’ll need to wear aligners will vary by your goals. In most cases the total treatment time lasts around six to eight weeks.
You can drink normally but the aligners should be removed while eating. Do not smoke or use tobacco products while the aligners are in.
Be sure to maintain your typical oral hygiene regimen of brushing and flossing through the duration of the realignment process. Rinse the braces with an antiseptic mouthwash that has received the ADA Seal of Acceptance to help reduce any bacterial buildup.
